Dinosaurs

It was a meteor. There is a thin layer of Iridium covering the entire earth, which is found in meteors and volcanoes. Seeing as volcanoes didn't all erupt at the same time, it was a meteor. I have a lot more information about this if you want more info :)

Actually, it has been proven that many large volcanoes DID in fact erupt at the end of the cretaceous period. I am of the opinion that you are right, it WAS a meteor, BUT volcanoes played a pivotal role, there is a lot of evidence for this. The meteor was the catalyst that made a very large number of volcanoes erupt. Great point about the iridium, tho. I just want to make sure the volcanoes get thier due.
