Dedication...

Hi, I've been reading the JOS website and listening to Priestess Maxine's sermons for about 3 months now. I've been meditating quiet a bit too and I want to do a dedication this month, but I have few concerns...One of them is burning the paper after writing and saying it aloud. I live in a apartment, sharing it with my baby boy and little sister. Not only am I afraid of my son inhaling the smoke from the other room, but I'm afraid of the smoke alarm going off. I know I could solve the problem by opening the windows, but I'm afraid of someone seeing or hearing me. Is saying what's on the letter mentally just as effective as saying it out loud? If so, what about disposing the letter after putting my name in blood? Can I tear it up? Or would that be disrespectful? I don't want to attract attention... Please help!

You can try to find a private place outside to perform the ritual or do the ritual in your astral temple.

You can recite your ritual in your mind, you can even do the whole thing in your astral temple. But I strongly recommend you at least try to burn the paper, because burning the paper is what sends out the words into the astral.

I think it would be best to do the whole ritual (in astral temple or physically) and then wait until it's dark out and burn the paper outside.

I would say otherwise but the burning of the paper is quite important so that it is brung into the astral. It doesn't have to be burned completely but as good as you can, please.

I did the dedication and meditated and did everything in the ritual last night and I feel pretty good about it. I was used to the tingles, the nerve spasms, and the increase of body temperature, but I was surprised how light-headed I became... I felt really dizzy and drained. Then I started to see things in my peripheral vision and I felt a bit paranoid... I went to bed and immediately it felt like someone gently nudged me a bit on my back while I lied on my side. It wasn't rough, but it was enough to make me move. Not long after that, I felt hot, prickly tingles along my left arm... When I went to sleep I had very vivid dreams. I was amazed how I experienced all this in one night! I'm not sure, but did some of the things I experienced last night meant that there was a demon present?
