dark workings question

hello, i need to perform black magick against someone i see nearly every day. i have never performed any kind of workings with grey or black energy and do not have any feel for it, i have never been around it.
my question is should i keep advancing on positive enrgies untill i can hear astrally and recieve help from my GD, whom i do not know yet; or should i get a feel for this energy until i feel comfortable with it so that i can do the working?

i know it is my decision, i would just like some advice from people that are more advanced with death/dark energy
