This would be my first post here but I thought I would share a bit of information about my gaurdian demon, Crocell. It is extremely difficult finding much in the way of information on her on the net and many of them refer to her as a male demon which would make it rather difficult to find more information.

Only two things I'll mention that I would say differ between my account and what is on the JoS website. She has black hair with a bluish tinge not blonde hair and if you are going to give her elements, she said it's not just fire but water as well but its really hard to give her any specific element. The following is predominantly an elaboration of the information I've found available about Crocell.

She has been known by many names throughout the ancient world but in every aspect she is referred to as a virgin goddess of wisdom, war, hunting, and weaving.

Names: Crocell, Crokel, Procell, Pucell (Goetic) Neith, Nit, Net, Neit (Egyptian) Athena, Athene (Greek) Menrva, Menfra, Merva, Mera (Etruscan) Minerva, Menrfa, Menrva (Roman)

I'm sure theres more in other cultures but these are the ones I know for certain. She also said she appeared much like a Valkyrie in Norse myth.

In some aspects of the ancient myths there are some confusing aspects with her being related to Astaroth but they are clearly separate. It seems to be usually seems to happen when there is an attribute to her being fertility goddess due to her being a virgin.

Appearance: Long flowing bluish-black hair, fair skin, large blue feathered wings, blue cloak, very beautiful. If she is leary of you she will appear shrouded in her cloak and not reveal herself completely. If she appears out of nowhere then water with spring up from the ground and spread out across the ground as she emerges from it. She may appear with or without any of the following: helmet, spear, shield (Aegis). Interesting note about the shield is that it does not have one specific image on it in the times I have seen it, although once I saw the aegis of Athena with the Gorgon head on it. Blue snakes may appear on the ground around her feet. I have yet to see an owl as the greeks say she is seen holding.

Sigil: There is a shield. Her hieroglyphic symbol as Neith is a shield with arrows across it. Athena/Minerva is well know for her aegis. The chakra symbol refers to the Brow chakra but more specifically the third eye and is oriented downwards. In the greek myth she emerged from Zeus's forehead. The wings are because she is a winged demon but it is somewhat similar to the arrows in the Neith hieroglyph.

Powers:
JoS Website (Goetic):
Crocell teaches mysticism, geometry, art, history and all of the liberal science, she can produce great noises and cause great commotions. She can produce confusion and indecisiveness in one's enemies. She warms waters and discovers baths.

Water Symbolism and Powers:
The main reference to this comes from the Egyptian mythology for Neith. Her name can be used to mean water and she is referred as the personification of the primordial waters of creation. This could explain her association with waters and springs. Also, for Athena there is a reference to Triton, a sea god, but it isn't a very definite link.

Goddess of Wisdom:
This is common to all of the aspects of Crocell and fits very well with the Goetic description of "Crocell teaches mysticism, geometry, art, history and all of the liberal sciences."

Goddess of War
This is also common to all the ancient descriptions and although not explicitly mentioned in the description on the JoS website, it fits quite well. Athena is well known for cunning intelligence and the strategic side of war which could easy explain the goetic description: "She can produce confusion and indecisiveness in one's enemies."

Goddess of Weaving and Crafts
Not mentioned at all in the goetic description but it is common to all other aspects. Also related to the creation of weapons (Neith) and more specifically metalworking of weapons (Athena).

Goddess of Hunting
Again not mentioned at all in the goetic description but it is common to all other aspects.

Ancient Holidays in Honor of Neith/Athena/Minerva (If you're interested):
January 19 (Egyptian)
Feast of Lamps/Festival of Lamplights in Sais in Honour of Neith
The entire town lit candles in celebration
March 19 (Roman)
Quinquatria, celebration of Minerva
~August 13 (Greece)
Panathenaea, Great festival of Athens, Celebration of Athena
December 8 (Egyptian)
Feast of Neith
December 26 (Egyptian)
Feast of Neith

Thank you for posting this information. Someone mentioned
once on the old groups that Morax was Athena, but that never
sounded quite right to me. After reading through Crocell's
description on JOS, it seems that she does indeed sound
more like Athena. Although, I would have thought Athena's
element would be Air (pure intellect, wisdom, communication,
ect...) rather than Fire and/or Water.

You did an outstanding job on this article, I really enjoyed
reading it! Thank you again for taking the time to post this.

It's pretty confusing trying to get a single element for any of the aspects. Descriptions of Athena would be air with some small water references, descriptions of Crocell would be fire with water references, and descriptions of Neith would be predominantly water.

There is one thing I was thinking about. Aquarius is an air symbol though it has many water references. The Egyptian feast of lamps occurs at the night of January 19th. Aquarius begins on January 20th so the celebration could very well be something to do with the start of Aquarius.

I just wonder - would it be possible to add this info to Lady Crocell's description on JoS? The same about Lord Abaddon (some time ago there was this informative post on Him) - a separate article on each of Them perhaps?

It is just my point of view, but the more info on a God/dess, the better for one who intends to summon Him or Her.

HAIL LUCIFER AND THE GODS OF THE OLD!!
DEATH TO XIANITY!!
