Controlling Animals? o.O

I have many pets, mice, dog, cat, fishies, birds, and the other day i realized that through affirmation i can influence them to do things.

My first experience of this was when i was trying to beat my 1min record on the rubik's cube, the mouse was in its cage in the mouse wheel and was very noisy and distracting. I pointed at it and said "stop" and it did... but only for about 15 seconds. I did it again "stop" and it did again for 15 seconds. Then i said "Stop, get out, and don't do that again for an hour" and it halted completely and went into its little mouse house.

Also, my cat seems to be able to understand me, as with my dog.

Anyone have explanations for this? It is completely new for me.

Ask any experienced pet owner.
Its common to communicate with your pets.

I did it as a child, hand tamed by own parakeet.

You live with the creature so you have a connection.
