Consequences of overdoing it with a curse

When I was young and stupid I was dating someone who was in constant contact with their ex and all the signs pointed out that they will either cheat on me or leave me for said ex. I confronted that ex and told them that if they want my partner back to make it clear (and I would break up with them bc I wasn't extremely invested), otherwise to go no contact and leave us alone. The ex responded in a very rude way, mocked me and they said ''I don't owe you anything''. I ended up breaking up with my partner for that and some other reasons and they started dating the ex within a week. I was so angry that I wrote them a letter basically cursing them to be alone forever and sent it to them. I was not a SS back then (had left xtian BS though) but the curse worked. My former partner ended up dumping the ex in a few weeks for someone else, a random person they met at a park. It has been 9 years since that retarded story took place and I check their instagram once a month and they are always single and whining about it and how they want to get married but nobody wants them....
Thanks to the information here in JoS, I have now learned that the punishment should fit the crime, and my curse was definitely over the top, just because they stole some trash from me they don't deserve to die alone. What are the consequences spiritually if someone curses excessively? Can I reverse it? I haven't forgiven them because they never apologized, but I have reached a state of indifference, I want to advanse spiritually and if the curse burdens me in any way, I would much rather help them find someone to get married.
What should I do?

I don't think you could have cursed them this strongly, with only a letter. You probably have used "I hope" which also not so efficient in magic.

Whatsoever, you can do returning curses on them, without, or a different prayer, and affirm "this energy completely cleans of every and any negativity, curses, that I have put on /this person/or the name/." You can hand the curse to a God's hand.

I wouldn't dedicate much time&energy into this

I think that maybe by still checking her profile once in a while you're still unconsciously taking up hateful and destructive feelings you once had, thus "charging" the curse in an unconscious way. Maybe you should just forget about it all and continue with your advancement, letting her deal with her karma alone and without any of your attentions. A cord cutting spell should definitely undo the curse unless she's broughting it to herself with her actions or thoughts. If she's still not over this guy and whining about it regularly maybe it's this mindset that is keeping her from finding new partners or whatsoever.

Confront her, ask about your relationship back then, if she says she is sorry, you could do returning curses 1 on her, but if you feel she didn´t changed, just let her rott in lonelyness.

You could also just tell her to block the ex.

It could also be the case that she is just bad at keeping a relationship who knows.

Her pair-bonding mechanism has been damaged, which is most often caused by people trying to have many different sexual partners. This causes the people to not be able to form any kind of attachment with anybody, because they have formed so many attachments with so many people that it has become impossible to ever have a normal or healthy relationship.

This is likely from multiple lifetimes of this. The reason you stopped having a relationship with her is because you could clearly see all of the symptoms and results of this damage. You did not cause these problems, you left because you saw these problems already existed.

If circumstances was like he did it with big intention, and was really mad and etc, I think written words may have created some links between target and him, I feel it may have worked, if much energy was given especially not only when writing words, but also energy was put before it, and maybe even after, for a longer period of time. It may definitely have sucked up enough to give some results. Also if he has ss heart, that may boost all this also…

I don't know. It is difficult to heal large problems and it might take a long time of working on it.
