Bad Visualization

I think theres something wrong with me... I'm doing the 6-month training program, and I stare at this image for 4 minutes, but after I close my eyes, I cant visualize the picture again, not even for a second!Could please someone tell what am I doing wrong? Because I really don't know... I stoped the training for a few days, because I couldn't do this exercice, but I re-started now, and I can't complete it...I know its a test and i shouldn't give up, but every single time I try, I fail.
Please someone enlighten me.

Make Sure you have plenty of light on the image, I too had this problem as I was doing it in a room with nothing but candlelight. Needless to say I failed miserably. After which I did it directly under the halogen globes in my lounge room and voila!

This didn't cause me to see the image for very long however and it was my mental concentration that then had to and still is improving in order to keep the image behind closed eyelids for more than 30 seconds.

It could be that you're having the same problem with others and expect to see an image with your physical eyes when visualizing. Also, the person who replied got it wrong, the objective is not to lighten the image so that you can see its imprint with your eyes, it's different than the candle meditation where you see an imprint.

Visualizing is like imagining, You make a mental image with your mind like when you're recalling the details of another object. It does not involve your physical eyes.

So there is nothing I can do then, if I don't give up, with training, it will eventually work out right?

I find it easy to visualize something, it comes to me naturally but the hard part is keeping it for 5 minutes. Are you sure you can't do it for at least 5 seconds?You do it all the time when remembering something about your past. The same way, try to "remember" how the image looks like.

maybe you could try to involve more of your senses. like if you were to try and visualize an apple, maybe thinking what one would taste like or smell like, while trying to visualize it, could help.
