Your past? You mean your past lives? You can do meditations for that (past life regression or self-hypnosis and the like); you can even use Runes for that purpose. "Feeling astrally" means to be able to feel um... the energies I guess. So yeah, you will definitely feel the energies etc as you advance.But for past lives, there are other methods.
