Daemon in Greek means teacher. These are the lower level and more recent gods. They are humans, most of them used to live here on Earth as regular people. But they became spiritually strong, they did the magnum opus, and they became gods. And now they try to help people and teach people how to help themselves.

Demons are much more advanced than humans, if you meant physical height then that can vary, some can be even shorter.
