Anyone Here Living the Digital Nomad Lifestyle?

AvatarMercuur1 min to read

Hello everyone,

Is there anyone here who works remotely or is self-employed?

I'd really like to build a remote income so I can travel more often and not be tied to one specific location. Right now I'm working a job I don't enjoy in a country with a climate that doesn't suit me. I want more sunshine and warmth.

Honestly, climate has a huge impact on both energy levels and overall well-being. There seems to be something almost magical about it. That's why I'd love to spend at least a month or a few months living in Thailand.

I want to enjoy a calmer lifestyle, get plenty of sun, sleep properly, stop waking up at 4 a.m. or working night shifts, train regularly, and earn money online. The earning part is what I'm still trying to figure out.

I have several ideas for a YouTube channel, but I'm not completely sure about them yet.

I'd be happy to hear from anyone who has made the transition to remote work or location-independent income. Any advice or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

It's very much possible. I can't give a lot of advice on the details, because they will end up different depending on various factors of what you'd want to do, nor have I exactly mastered it. I just have a small extra income on the side, and potential for upward growth.

Put yourself out there, and develop an online persona with access to an audience pool. The methods to monetize at that point are endless, be they donations, monetized viewership on various platforms, creating a community with its own monetization potential, etc.

I'd say it's actually a very achievable goal for a Zevist that actively meditates and does the right practices.

This is the targeted message.

Which skills do you have? You could become a freelancer or start your own buissness with that. You could use AI to help you build a program and sell it.

There are infinite possibilities to make money, you only need to start doing it.

The biggest thing you should think about for any business is what problems people are having and what your product or service can solve for that problem. If you want to live location free you will more than likely need to build several different income streams unless you have an absolute banger idea. Most wealthy people do not live off one source of income.

Hello, Mercuur. It's also my goal to be a digital nomad, and I'm also after YouTube, although my niche is not entirely clear, yet.

ModernMage's advice is very good: a business is all about solving problems people have. And then, you have to question what your product/service has that other people's product/service doesn't have. Why would someone choose you over them?

Now, if you're searching for occupations that could help you earn an income online, becoming a web designer/programmer or learning graphic design (and after you've established some experience face to face in an actual company) could take you far, I think. (as far as I know, digital nomads are mostly freelancers of this kind of work)

Definitely go for it. There are plenty business type with which you can achieve this. Just focus on one thing. If somebody else have became rich with a certain business type it means you can do it as well, you just have to have long term focus on it, otherwise it won't work if you give up a week later or something. Most youtubers became rich after 5+ years. Even short creators after many months of trying and failing.
