It's best to do workings to bring the best partner into your life, and workings to remove negative people. For nearly everyone, being alone (and celibate) is harmful, and as you advance, you can't do things that are harmful and detrimental, as this halts advancement.
I always recommend people do a freeing the soul working to remove negative people, including people who will be met in the future (preventing harmful people from entering the life), followed by a working to attract only positive and beneficial people.
Having a marriage partner who is beneficial and helpful, can skyrocket one's advancement, both spiritually and materially. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts, two people working together can accomplish more than just one on his/her own.
