Well met, everyone. I am 22 year old man, husband, father of a wonderful 2 month old baby boy, natural skeptic, an anti theist, and living in the Bible Belt. or as I like to call it, the southern stretch of madness.

I was raised in a Southern Baptist home by a Southern Baptist preacher. By the time I was about 12 years old I realized what utter nonsense that the Abrahamic religions were, and most religions for that matter. All it took was using rational thought, getting in touch with my humanity, and a good dose of great books. I've always been a skeptical person, and now I find it impossible to believe in anything without having a rational reason to. Evidence is everything to me, & I am always in search of truth.

I was introduced to joy of Satan by a coworker, & I must say, I am quite impressed so far. I agree almost 100% with the philosophy around spiritual Satanism, and I'm looking to approach it with an open mind. I do not currently believe in an afterlife, the human soul, or the realm of spirits. That being said, spiritual Satanism is unique so far in that it promises direct experience. Something that I require to believe.I've come here to learn, and hopefully, get the sort of experienceI've always looked for. I've practiced over a dozen forms of spirituality, and none of them have delivered. For some reason though, I feel myself drawn to spiritual Satanism. Spiritual Satanism is also unique to me in that, unlike other spiritual practices or religions, it seems to not only recommend, but almost require skeptical inquiry. That speaks volumes to me. If Satan is a real entity, and of the nature that joy of Satan has led me to believe he is, then it seems obvious to me that he would prefer an honest pursuit of truth from a non believer over the blind acceptance of dogma, and as we all know, blind faith and subjectiveness to the teachings of other mammals is exactly how the xians keep their filthy control over the weak minded.
I promise all of you that I am NOT here to try to convince any of you that Satan is not real, quite to the contrary, I am hoping to become convinced that he is real. I tend to ask hard hitting questions, and I have a very blunt personality, so if I come off as offensive, I apologize ahead of time. My only wish is to find ultimate truth, in whatever form it may take. I pledge to approach this with an open mind, and at the first chance I have, complete the ritual to dedicate my soul, if I have one, to Satan.

Whether or not I end up joining the ranks of Hells Army, I certainly hope to learn from all of you. And if nothing else, one thing that we all have in common here is disgust with the Abrahamic faiths and the lies they put forth. I understand that once I start this path, there is no turning back. But if it turns out to be real, then I would never want to turn back.

Any advice that the more experienced among you, especially if you were atheists yourselves at one point, could give me would be highly appreciated. I look forward to learning more, and I'm excited at the prospect of things to come.

If any of you have any questions for me, feel free to ask. I am an open book, and quite well read in philosophy and religion.

And, I suppose I should end by saying...hail Satan!

There are some points I need to clarify to you, if I may:
-Rational inquiry isn't everything actually. In Spiritual Satanism it's pretty much important to develop your intuition and to balance your soul. Western society is too much focused on left-brained thinking. Of course you need your female side to be able to experience things as well as gain knowledge beyond reason.
-You seem to believe there are 2 extremes: either to believe or not believe something. However why can't you simply accept the possibility of something? Accepting the possibility means knowing something is possible, but not 100% sure. Really, this mind attitude is important here. To experience things you need to open your mind to their possibility and suspend any disbelief. Otherwise you're putting blocks in your mind which will prevent you from experiencing things. Accepting the possibility means being open-minded. That's pretty much a must for all forms of spirituality. You need to be open minded and suspend disbelief before anything, as well as consult the female non-rational side of your soul.
-Nobody here really cares to "convince" you. Again we're not xians or others who seek to convert people, really. We're not about convincing anyone, we just open a door to people and they're free to join if they like it or they may leave.

P.S. From my experiences here with atheists for many years in these groups, they tend to ask a few common questions that based on a misunderstanding of the whole thing. I'm mentioning it here so it may answer any potential similar questions you may have:
1)They usually ask a question that assumes Satan is much like the xian god, i.e. a monotheistic creator e.t.c. The same or similar arguments they use to argue with xians. The problem with that is it doesn't work here because we don't believe in a monotheistic creator that created everything, nor do we attribute absolute qualities (like omnipresence e.t.c.) to Satan. The universe pretty much always existed, and Satan is an extraterrestrial being who was born 500,000 years ago. He didn't really exist forever nor is he all-powerful. He is extremely powerful compared to humans but his power has its limits too. He can't do everything nor does he know everything. Much like animals and other beings, he was born from his father and mother like we do and his race of extraterrestrials evolved from lesser species. They used to be mortals but they modified their DNA to reach immortality. I'm stating all this as info, you don't have to believe anything, just accept it's possibility.
2)They make unreasonable demands of Satan and the other Gods/Daemons or even other members here. I.e. a typical thing they would ask is they would place a cup of tea and summon a God and they would try to have him turn it over. Obviously the Gods don't do such silly things and they're only summoned for a Good reason. It's insulting to do that merely because they doubt things. Of course a God wouldn't really stoop down to that level, they are busy and proud beings. Besides that, physical things rarely happen. You must awaken your astral senses first (which can take a lot of time unless you were born a psychic) and then contact them astrally.
A variation of the above is they may ask a member here to so something unreasonable, like asking him to guess a secret personal thing of his, or cast a black magick spell on him to prove it's real, or whatever else. Again it's the same as the above, we're too busy and don't waste our time or energy with bullshit. If you want to prove something is real you need to spend the time (it can take years) in practicing it. You can only do for yourself. Lastly, if somebody has seriously read the JoS site they'd realize that it clearly advises people who have any spiritual powers to hide it because it's dangerous.
3)They confuse the astral and the physical. They somehow means that if they can't see something with their physical eyes it's not real. Usual questions that assume these are things like "can anyone give me a real photo of Satan? If you can, I'll be convinced" or they expect to see Satan and the Gods/Daemons physically and immediately. Again like I said, you see Satan and the Gods astrally. This isn't anything physical with your eyes, but you "see" with your mind. It feels much like visualization, and it takes a lot of time to develop. That's what astral vision is. Also as HP Pythia said, just because you can't see something with your physical eyes doesn't mean it's not real. There are things which we can't see with our physical eyes, but other animals can, because they can see ultraviolet and other frequencies. The visible spectrum is less than one percent of all the frequencies that exist.
4)They oversimplify things and try to refute the oversimplified version. The usual false logic is because they tried something once and didn't work then it means it's not real. Obviously nobody will achieve anything in their first trial. Have you ever heard anyone play a complex music piece perfectly the first time he tried it when he had absolutely no experience in music? Of course this never happened. This pretty much happens with everything. People might fail even in the thousandth time they tried it because of false beliefs, or because of doing it wrong or whatever.

My name is Tristan and for years I was an atheist and didn't believe in a God but my friend James got me into Satanism even know he wasn't a Satanist... I got online and started looking up magic and came along templeofzeus.org and started doing the meditations on the website and actually came to see the results were real^^ alright man if you want real results do the 6th chakra and3rd eye medition for about3 months every day for about 15 minutes and you'll be able to see auras( the life energy that surrounds the human body) When I started looking at auras and doing the meditations on the website I was extremely skeptical and didn't think they would work but just like the website stated if I had patiance and persavirance I would see results:) I can now see auras very well and can almost see the entire aura spectrum. I've gotten to the point too where I can walk outside and look at the sky and it's pink. Its absolutely amazing.This is in my opinion the quickest way too get results fast!!especially when you actually start seeing the aura of everything!!and when you see that thas not a lie it'll give you confedense too do all the other meditations without being skeptical...I hope this helped you a little bit

Hail Satan

Why satan does not answer me when i ask his help to get me closer to him and asking his help and all? And what happens if i dedicate and how do i know i have done it right? And do i need to be dedicated before i get any help from meditation and before i can open my clairvoyance and audience points? And by the way, you cant do the registration because the code thing verifying your human does not appear.

Hail satan forever!!

First thing you should understand is your *probably* not going to start seeing spirits or Satan right off the bat. I was skeptical as well at one point and this discouraged me (i did not understand at the time that one must be spiritually open to interact with the Gods) if you want proof then try one of the mediations on the JoS, another thing you can do is simply ask Satan for a sign of his existence  (you can do this by picturing his sigil in your head and asking) most of all STUDY STUDY STUDY, the more you research whats on the JoS and related sites, the more you will see just how much it all makes sense.

@The_Fire_Starter_666

 I only remember about the purest form of skepticism you explained which I found good to a fault because you might lose your grip on reality if it goes too far. I'm interested in this loose grip style of thinking to a fault although I believe that is because I don't fully understand it. I am always looking for ways to improve myself mentally which is why I *try* to keep a more open mind to suggestions.

So, care to go into more detail?

@discipleofthegods13
if I may fill in an answer on his behalf. It is okay to be open minded, in fact this is how most of us came to Satanism, but there is a fine line between being open minded and just giving up on your own opinions and inquiries. pseudo-skiptics simply give up on thinking, and giving up on something as simple as thinking or having an opinion is some real lazy shit!

@descipleofthegods13 and dalightskin: You both misunderstood what I said. I was replying to the atheist who said he didn't believe we have a soul. Having these doubts prevents you from progressing spiritually and getting results. That's why I told him he needs to accept the possibility and suspend disbelief. This is a mental block he has and I've seen this many times. I doubt you'll need it yourself because you're a dedicated Zevism anyway.
and @dalightskin: By pseudoskeptics I don't really mean those who have no opinions, but those who have materialistic opinions much like that atheist. There are many modern people who believe only "natural" things are real and everything spiritual doesn't exist and call themselves skeptics. They obviously aren't skeptics at all because they do have opinions and hard beliefs. There's nothing wrong with having no opinions, if you do have opinions you do limit yourself in some way. BUT, it's almost impossible not to have an opinion. Everybody automatically has an opinion on everything. If you manage to clear yourself from all opinions then you'd be a superhero or something. Everybody is biased in some way. However having no opinions doesn't mean you give up thinking. Obviously skepticism is a school of philosophy and philosophy means thinking :) If they didn't think, skepticism wouldn't exist obviously.

@Dalightskin, that's what Call_Me_Something_else said that kind of skepticism was in a post some time back..

I was like..wow.. I.. tried that once and almost went insane...........

The totally open minded without forming any kind of grip on reality that is.
yeah, what you just described is exactly what I do.. most of the time lol.

I learned to think this way initially from watching Death Note, and reading a book by a middle eastern money manager author. It's very useful. Nicholas Nassim Taleb was the author. It's a fascinating read. It's called the black swan the impact of the highly improbable.

It loosened my tight grip on black and white thinking and I have loved being a lot more open minded ever since :)

@The_fire_Starter_666.

Alright, I'm just gonna come out and ask seems how I can't totally get a grip on this style of thinking from your description I did try really, really hard though hah.

Do you have a pdf or other link I can find to study later on? As I said I am always looking for ways to expand myself mentally. Even a suggestion I can write down for later would be awesome.

I mean, if you don't then I'll look for it, but it makes it faster and easier for not just me, but anyone else interested in this style of thinking, but didn't ask and was still reading.

One needs to be very powerful mentally to be a successful Witch.  Knowledge is powa!

Damn straight my Brother! If one does not know, one cannot do. And
Satan gives us that key...the key to unlock the knowledge, and the
power, that is within each of our souls. As his intent.

Welcome to the group,but I'd like to say this to be a Spiritual Satanist you must be theistic because ea Spiritual Satanist aka theistic Satanist means you believe in a literal Satan.
Hail SatanJoseph

@descipleofthegods13: There are actually the writings of Sextus Empiricus, an ancient sceptic as well as a newer one, David Hume. Also skeptics sometimes use thought experiments to push one's perspective. For example one is where you ask yourself if this life we are living now isn't the same as a dream or a hallucination. So you can look into those too.

@The_Fire_Starter666.

I have heard of David Hume. I heard him mentioned in Nassim Nicholas Taleb's book I mentioned. He also mentioned his thinking style. I have a pretty loose grip on assuming things unless I'm impatient about the matter, or I think I have the answer without thinking.

It's my impatience and anger that get the better of me :/
Seriously, if anyone if interested in this thinking style here's the book itself. It'll open your mind/perspective without fail.

It's funny. I first learned of this thinking style I played in a game called Chrono Trigger. It introduced the idea to me, but I wouldn't get it until far later on. It briefly goes into this style of thinking in a segment of the game 12,000 years ago from 1,000 the game's current setting when you begin playing it. The place where it introduces this style of thinking is called the magical kingdom of zeal.

I believe this game itself first got me interested in magick in this life. I was like 8 lol. It to this day is among my favorite RPG's. I first learned I was extremely interested in Satanism about 2 years ago. I had been seeing glimpses of it through the media I enjoyed since I was 7. Some of them tell a very revealing story despite the fantasy about certain things.

Yeah, I doubt any of that is vaild. You need to read and study the Joy of Satan

While it is possible you have been attacked by random practitioners of xianized witch craft, I wouldn't say you actually fought anything off with no Spiritual Power. Trust me I know. I have fought them off a time or two. With little to no Spiritual Power you're lucky to be alive. I'll bet you just believe you have been..
