Xmas stems for OLD traditions from many countries and almost nothing is xian, unless you look at manger scenes and the few xmas songs about christ. There's lots of great things to do. After all, Yuletide is OUR holiday, never mind the xtians hi-jacking it & changing it's name.
Because it's awfully hard to find cards without the word christmas on them, I make my own. They're beautiful and the recipients love them, knowing they're getting something unique.
And I've seen black trees! I'm not Goth and I thought they were stunning! All depends on how they're decorated, of course. I use a LOT of decorations (current theme is blue and silver), but if I needed a new tree, I'd certainly take a second look at black ones.

I'm the only person in my house with enough... life in them to decorate for the yule time. i always make sure that there are no hints of christianity. The only problem i ever have is when someone else wants to decorate the tree, as i always do this last and my decorations cover interior,exterior, and yard, and i like the look of a plain tree in my house. they put all sortsa crap on it.
