About earthly and materialistic

I was going to perform kabala of venus for a goals of mine and got a little confused on really dumb thing...What things comes under earthly and materialistic (non spiritual workings)?
And what things comes under overall spiritual advancement?
It just hit my mind while typing,that the workings performed on oneself are all spiritual and the workings performed on others using kabalh are earthly? Like love relation,destruction etc....Is it so?
I cannot use the kabala chart of venus until i dont get to know this u knw...
