On my language history classes, we had something on Early Modern Day English. Namely, we were translating a text from that English to the Present Day.
And guess what, 'he was a CRETIN' means 'he was a XIAN' !! XDXDXD

Now, this is a good laugh;D

thank you for this post it is something for me to look forward to once i get into that class in college. it's good to know that the hatred was present during that time.
