8th chakra?

I remember somewhere reading about a chakra point that is above the crown chakra. Above the head entirely. I'm pretty sure I read it on JoS (as it is pretty much the only reliable source of information regarding real magick). But now I can't find it.
I noted it when I was aligning my chakras. I don't spend enough time on that chakra (if it is one), when I feel it, it is faint... could be in my head, but if its not than it definitely needs some more attention. 

Anyone have any info here? I would really like to know, and I already looked on JoS and couldn't find it. If it's there I would appreciate a link. If not, maybe someone could tell me I'm wrong? Thank you!

It doesn't really matter since the eigth chakra is mainly used for storing energy.\n When one breathes solar energy into it It would technically be aligned downwards, but if one were to take serpentine energy or orgasmic energy and move it from the root chakra to the 11th chakra then the eigth chakra would be aligned facing up. \n \n It is more important that your solar chakra is spinning and containing high amounts of bioelectricity. I know this is extremely important but I am not knowledgeable enough to know exactly what purpose it serves with the final process of rising. Maybe it has something to do with storing all of the excess energy created by the serpent. Maybe it has something to do with telepathic communication. For some reason My instinct is telling me it is also symbolic for all the information one will recieve once the serpent has risen and our consciousness is completely aligned with the astral. \n \n \n Stick with your gut feeling and do what feels right to you.\n ------------------------------\n

Also guys there was a page on JoS about "opening the 8th chakra" before 2007 and that page was removed when it was found that the true 8th chakra is the left shoulder chakra, not the one above your head. I highly doubt that the chakra above your head is even a chakra, for sure is not important. See how the opening the chakras page looked in 2005 and note the page called "opening the 8th chakra":\n \n \n \n \n

The number of the chakra is irellevant, but I should have noticed that corrected myself. Honestly I just gave the link to give him an approximation of the position of the Solar chakra in contrast to the crwon chakra. Personally I just refer to it as the Solar Chakra and I have felt it open and spinning. First of all he is not wrong and he brought up a great point on why the gold chakra is important but the main reason the JoS took down information on that chakra is because it is for the most part a useless chakra, unless you are going through the final rising in which case it becomes very important, and primarily why it is like a ball, just look at Egypt, the serpent around the golden sun over the head is representing the final rising, and even Pythia mentioned it in several places, I unfortunately do not have the time to find it, now also remember that everything that is on the JoS is not completely correct, Pythia mentioned it was outdated, as well as some people may remember that at one point the JoS actually had two different ways which the solar chakra was supposed to be aligned,  plus why would a HP who still is active, mainly away from the online though, and who gave great knowledge, like the advanced aura of protection and more, all of which
work. Be wrong about chakras which he gave great meditations about them and explain the chakras in detail.

While I appreciate your note (that the information is outdated), and respect your knowledge, firestarter, I don't personally feel as if it's correct to say that the Sun Chakra (whatever number it may be) isn't important, or that it may not exist at all. Granted, I don't know as much as some, I just don't FEEL like that's correct. I've already been practicing storing energy in it, and it does feel like it functions better in the sunlight and that I can store more solar energy in it when in direct sunlight. And the use of the Sun Chakra (Gold Chakra?) sounds pretty interesting and useful... I'm looking forward to it.

I would really like another opinion on this one.

Perhaps Don has something to say?

Exactly that's what I said. The references to the chakra above your head in JoS are outdated and you will find no such thing after 2007.

See the above. If HP Pythia mentioned that before 2007, it doesn't matter. The key point is to find where she mentioned that AFTER 2007.

Like all people, everyone can make mistakes. A then-priestess referenced an email by HP Vovim Baghie for example where made a mistake and he said that when one reaches the magnum opus, he dies first and then gets reincarnated as a Son/Daughter of a God. This is in the past posts of the JoS group, and then HP Pythia came and answered that the Magnum Opus reverses the aging process and no you not die after you complete it. The post can be found here:

It would be fore the same reason the JoS said before that the heart chakra is the powerhouse of the soul based on mainstream yoga texts, but then found that the solar chakra is the powerhouse of the soul.

I agree the "gold chakra" the one on top of the head since the solar chakra is never called the gold chakra it is true that it is golden in color but I have never seen a place on JoS where the solar chakra was refered to as the gold chakra, I could be wrong here. Now I remember some time ago a year of so there was a post explaining how the Egyptians got it correct and that the Serpent goes around the gold chakra when you are risen. Now I am pretty new I just finished my first year as a Satanist, so I do not know much about what certain members did and did not do, so I can be wrong though you still can find information on that chakra on JoS.

I see what you're saying, but what I'm trying to argue isn't the name or the number of the chakra point (again, I do appreciate the corrections, but I think you're missing my point), what I'm trying to argue is whether or not the chakra point above your head is either existent or useful, and which way you should align it if so (which I have been told is down).

I'm sorry but this is kind of a silly debate.

What you call the 8th chakra is a matter of perspective.

Pythia changed the site and said that the "True" 8th and 9th chakras were in the shoulders. The reason she did this is because they are the most important chakras after chakras 1-7 along the spine. I can say from experience that the shoulder chakras are more important than the chakras above the head. So Pythia said that these are the "True" 8th and 9th chakras because they are very important in circulating energy through the soul.

But, if you're just going by the numbers, it's pretty simple. The first chakra is in the base of the spine, and the chakras 2-7 are along the spine and chakra #7 is in the crown of the head.

So, since there are chakras above the head, it is perfectly reasonable that someone would say chakra 8 was above chakra 7, and chakra 9 was above chakra 8, because it's a numbers thing.

Yes, even though the shoulder chakras are more "important."

So High Priestess Pythia is not wrong. HP Vovim is not wrong. No one here is wrong. It's just semantics and a matter of perspective.

The chakra above the head is chakra #8 by sequence.
The chakras in the shoulders are #8&9 by importance.
