3rd Eye

Good afternoon! There is a question which has bothered me for sometime now, but has yet to be answered: when ever I meditate on my 3rd eye, I seem to feel it higher and to the right of where pictures, or descriptions of it, say/show it to be. I do have an allmost constant awareness of the back right side of my head where I sustained a serious injury some years back. Could my "wiring" be off due to having a plate of sorts where a hole now exists in my skull, could this simply be psychosomatic? If someone would be kind enough to help me understand, it would help me out greatly. Thank you.
