Russia’s Supreme Court has officially banned the “International Movement of Sat*nists,” labeling it an extremist organization.

The decision came after Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov argued that the group spreads hatred toward traditional religions and has connections to radical nationalist movements.

Similar to the 2023 ban on the “International LGBT Movement,” experts point out that no formal organization under this name actually exists, suggesting the ruling is being used broadly to suppress ideological dissent.

The ruling effectively prohibits all “Sat*nic” rituals, symbols, and activities across Russia. Authorities claim the group promotes attacks on Orthodox shrines and endorses neo-Nazi ideas, with participation or promotion now punishable by long prison sentences.

This action is widely viewed as part of the Kremlin’s broader campaign to enforce “traditional values” and limit any beliefs that challenge the state-approved religious and social order.

To understand it, first we need to define "traditional values".

For him traditional values are christian conservative values ... And why is he trying to "protect them"? Its pure propaganda, he doesnt care about values, virtues etc. he is using conservative values as Trojan Horse to get support.

'satanism' was banned because most of 'satanic' movements are woke, lgbt and liberal garbage- so its nothing too deep, just pushing his Trojan Horse deeper.

Slavic Paganism is legal in Russia and recognised as a protected religion by the Russian government. That is closer to Zevism than any of these "Satanist" groups are.

There are no Russian authorities hunting for Zevists as I doubt any of them know what Zevism even is, and even then Zevists would be at the bottom of their "anti occult" targets because Zevists don't go around half naked in the streets with goat horns acting like degenerates or picking fights with xians or burning buildings or other childish behaviour. Besides all this, Zevists are also anonymous so good luck figuring out who is one in the first place.

The term "International Satanic Movement" is vague and ill-defined and we don't even know what they mean by it. In this article some bishop is crying about witches, psychics and numereologists, so they must fall under the category of "Satanists" too if they decide to prosecute them.

Bishop Pitirim from the Skopinsky diocese of the Ryazan region claimed the number of “magicians, psychics, tarot card readers, numerologists and witches” tripled in the past year and now totals 800,000 people. That compares with 40,000 Russian Orthodox priests, he claimed.

Regardless of this, the Russian government is authoritarian, and visiting zeusisgod.com domain addresses can result in FSB having an interest in you, if those websites are not blocked, that is. Russia has officially banned a lot of VPN services, which should tell us something about what is going on over there.

I honestly think nothing will come of this.

It’s kind of like weed or piracy becoming so common and generally don’t disturb the peace that the authorities would turn a blind eye to it all and focus on actual criminals or threats to the state. The “Satanists” who would get the ire of the state would be the ones protesting or making public LARP displays to troll xians.

In the past, it was largely mobs who go after occultists rather than governments and this ain’t happening in Russia currently.

I think your average FSB has better things to do than chasing around law abiding people who are meditating and doing rituals in peace, or any kind of occultist for that matter. The vast majority of the resources of such agencies are spent on countering foreign spies, actual political threats to the state or terrorists.

The Russian Orthodox Church’s influence is also largely exaggerated. It may have some say in the government but has little hold over the public. Russia has more abortions than any country in Europe to use one example, gives you an idea of its hold on Russians.

I would not downplay this possibility. Even though there is nothing illegal about us, the reality in authoritarian states is not what you imagine. There is material on Nazism in some of the domains, and that is a red flag. There is a reason people from Russia visit this place through the TOR Network.

Fuck satanic temple anyway, good if that evil degenerated abortion blood sacrifice organization is banned.

But Temple of Zeus as occult and nationalist organization and ideology is 100% seen as enemy by Putin regime. So it is strongly recommended to Russians to use VPN and Tor while visiting our sites and remain anonymous until the collapse of Putin's regime.

My intention is not to fearmonger, but this is not something to downplay. The censorship and ideological suppression is ramping exponentially since people are effectively sharing and communicating the truth. There are trojan horses all around the world to justify normalizing online activity becoming real world punishments. Don't bet the farm on quietly practicing Zevism keeping you a nontarget indefinitely. Stay safe, and use privacy tools when possible.
