Why can't I stop dreaming about this person?

I was friends with one girl in elementary school and our paths diverged when we went to different middle schools. We were regular friends, we liked each other, nothing unusual, but she has been appearing in my dreams since I was a child. There were periods when she appeared in my dreams literally every day. In my dreams she is always shown as someone who stands by my side and supports me.

I'm in college and to this day she still appears in my dreams (in short I've been dreaming about her for almost my entire life).

Is it possible that we knew each other in a previous incarnation? And no, I don't have any romantic feelings for her, because first of all I have a partner and secondly she is more like a "bro" to me.

Maybe I should write to her? She is now studying abroad and it has been a very long time since we spoke to each other.

Personally, I'd write to her if I were in your situation. And actually I have been, and wrote to past friends I had dreams of. Even just to reconnect as friends can bring some joy into both of your lives

Perhaps she was a sister or other close relation in a past life. That would explain a close enough connection to dream of her often.

I remember I had a girl whom I have dreamt about as well, and very often. I decided to write her an email and connected as friends.
