Its basically a daily routine, when you only sleep 20 minutes in every 4 hour. I know Leonardo da Vinci used this, I wondering it's useful, or not?

There are different types.

The one you described is the most strict. Some years ago I tried another type, where you slept 4 hours at night, and then 3 more times 20 minutes each during the day, distancing them by circa 6 hours.

My considerations
In those 20 minutes your brain learn that to maximize the time it needs to go in REM phase almost immediatly.

The cons part, is that it is not enough for the physical rest. I did this when I was working, going to university, going to gym and spiritual warfare. The body after some weeks was really tired. Plus, due to random events during the day, almost never I was able to follow the full rest schedule, especially to work.

I quitted afer some time, but it was very good to have 3/4 hours to do other things.

I am not a sleep expert nor a doctor. This is my personal experience. It would be good to hear other opinions.

It's not ideal for long term health and longevity, but necessary for someone who is very capable and has important duties they could benefit greatly by having the extra time for. In terms of missing things by sleeping at those points within the day, it also would have to be someone who can micromanage their time and has an awareness of people's cycles on some level. Napoleon and Tesla did it as well. You can only really achieve it with advanced spiritual practices otherwise it's totally damaging.

There's also the Biphasic one if I remember right, and the others. If you need more time in a day for important works but aren't too hot on that intensive level of day to day being, you'd want to try them instead. Certain people who want more time in the day awake when they look into this, in my opinion its the same as the average person with no real goal who wants to live forever. They don't even understand how depressing that would be for them. If you did a uberman sleep cycle and had all that time with no foundation of working for the Truth you would feel like ass and probably cause yourself health problems.

I feel like people who will have done that before successfully for a while, going to sleep normally would have been like a war veteran returning home from the Great War. I don't really think it's for the average person. The war veteran was still shellshocked afterwards, I wonder how a person with middling and average intensity would deal with it, lol.

On a partially unrelated sidenote, I personally believe with the Gods, they actually have it where they do not require sleep as they actually have the cognitive ability to perform the sleep functions in some sort of state which is beyond our dimensions of perceiving and thinking but basically like an empowered trance state. The function of sleep is a required thing, it's like the nightly death action the mind does. With an advanced race of beings who have overcome death, I bet they even have overcome that death of the mind that we have every night. They can balance that polarity.

I did this aswell. For 1 or 2 months..
for me well it worked. But I was tired all the time, just for 30minutes after the nap I was kinda okay.

I couldn’t even meditate properly lol.

I would never do this again.

20 minutes is not enough for the body to go through the necessary stages of sleep. It does not even complete 1 stage. Just because popular narrative claims Da Vinci did it, it does mean it that it's true, just like Hitler was not a vegetarian and lolocaust never happened.

If you want to have optimal sleep, go to sleep early (when melatonin production peaks) and wake up early (after 5 to 9 hours you should wake up naturally, fully refreshed and energetic, not even needed stimulants like caffeine). If you do not wake up like that, then there are also other issues to address such as unhealthy diets, unhealthy lifestyles, blue-light exposure after dusk and so on.

I can't imagine myself refreshed and ready for all the tasks of the day with such a sleeping schedule. From Dec. 2020 to Jan 2021 I had this schedule on some days of the week when I woke up at 0330, after sleeping 4-7 hours max, and sleeping for 1-4 hours during around noon, and then back to work and go to sleep around 2300-0000. Even that was not ideal, and I could not get always enough rest during noon so I would just feel tired, and physically unrecovered from work and exercising. Just give me that 8-9 hours of rest and I'm good for the day.

I could make a blog and say that Hitler did it too, and Himmler did it too, and people would start saying that Hitler slept for 20 minutes at a time and that Himmler did that too, would that change the fact that they did not in fact sleep for 20 minutes at a time? Absolutely not, but it would motivate unwise people to have stupid sleeping patterns.

Useful, yes. But i imagine it would only suit certain people. Like those advanced who need less sleep..

I did E3 years ago like Hidden Warrior. I loved the extra time but it took a toll on my health. It exacerbated issues i was already having and I'm still dealing with them.

In Chinese Medicine, certain times of the day rule the energy channels for each organ. So if you're not asleep at night then you're depriving these channels.

11p-1a Gallbladder
1a-3a Liver
3a-5a Lungs

Also, a side note: you'll know if you already have problems with one of the above energy channels if you wake up during their periods.

centralforce666 recommended to sleep between 10p - 5:30a if you can
