The mind, body and consciousness - Self or Experienced?

During my meditation, an interesting thought came into the mind. Do I really own the mind or am I just experiencing it, being able to use it as a commander of sorts?

Thoughts come and go and it's the "I am" or self that chooses to feed them energy or simply let them pass in void meditation but does that actually mean that we own the mind? What if, we are just using "The mind" rather than "My mind" and how would one know?

I guess the same could be said of the body and consciousness too - as opposed to saying it's "My body" or "My consciousness" it's us or self experiencing these things.

You might ask then, if that's the case, what would the self be? I would simply responde with "I am". I am using the mind during meditation, I am using the body during my life, I am experiencing consciousness rise but am I really those things?

With this thought, it's impossible to "lose your mind" for example because it was never yours to begin with.

Ofcourse, I don't claim any of this as the truth, just an interesting topic to discuss with fellow JOS members.

I am still to meditate on the subject more to get a deeper understanding of what I mean within. I enjoy hearing others thoughts on this subject.

Also would like to add on top of the this, the importance of simple words in the mind during meditation.

A simple word such as "My" mind as opposed to "The" mind can make an insane difference.

I've often read here about the power of words with the mind but this time I truly felt the difference, feeling a weight off the mind by changing a single word during my practices.

I even notice the mind saying "My mind" then I correct it with loving energy to "The mind" and feel the difference in energy.

Truly amazing, even if what I said is not correct to some, the power of altering and changing words is truly real!

Still would like to hear thoughts on this though, I may be slow at replying but will read eventually.
