Odysseus and the Syrens - pyrography

For those who are unfamiliar with the story, Odysseus and his crew have to cross where the Syrens live. The song of the Syrens makes any man mad, they drive their boat to rocks and the Syrens eat their corpses. Odysseus was warned about them, so block all of his mans ears, but give one weird command: he wants to hear the sound. He orders his mans to tie him into the ship, and not release him, no matter what he says. Thats the moments I made into this cracked piece of pinewood.

For me, this is an ultimate "yes" saying to life. Experiencing everything life can offer, even if its dangerous or even harmful. It also show how careful you have to do while doing it, else you easily die in the procces(or get succumed into it, like the lotus-eaters).

It looks great! I can imagine archaeologists in a thousand years finding this and thinking it's from Antiquity.
