Be civil. We are law abiding citizens. You don't have to be super kind or love them or anything. Protect yourself from their garbage energy and curse them in private if they fuck with you. Banish them as needed. Sadly we live in a world where they are not avoidable at times. Try to distance yourself as much as you can though.
