Write to Him with your heart. Bear your soul to Him. Don't ever bullshit Him and be respectful. Especially in rituals. It will help you hone your concentration and magick.
Also in day to day prayers be honest and respectful. What relationship will last without heartfelt communication? The key is to not repress things or hide them. Satan knows everything, trust me. I remember sitting in my room (I had to go through a halfway house after a DUI) and dealing with negative thoughts because I was allowing the assholes around me to affect me (I had a few dirty xtians that blared gospel music and prayed hours a day). I walked around with anger and it came out in an ugly way with bad thoughts about Satan. I let Him know what was up completely. How these thoughts were popping up and how I loved Him and know He is God and how I was working and succeeding against those thoughts but didn't want Him to take offense. *I* felt better and it helped *me* deal with it.
