Using pentagrams that are not tattoos?

for 1: you don't have to get a tattoo of anything. this is a personal choice. 2: getting a pentagram could spell problems,only if you wear it out in the open. 3: hmmmm,i don't use the pentagram,i don't even do spell's i just meditate. you don't need props just have a strong mind and soul to attract what you want too.

I think I read that pentagrams tattooed on have beneficial effects, so long as they are point-down(two prongs to sky, one to the ground)...and have no circle.
Clarify me at any point, please.
But, how can they be used without tattooing? I'm not a fan of having ink permanently injected beneath my skin. Far too indecisive..even for that, or a sigil.
So, how can they be used for "normal" rituals..or are they something we don't "use"? Is there a purpose besides drawing energy from the sky/stars down to refill the planet? Does size, or overall numbers matter more? Do digital ones have any affect? Doubt that last one.

I don't plan on wearing one.I thought pentagrams were more than just props? Maybe I misunderstood. Oh well.
