That's something I have tremendous trouble with as well. But I guess it's just one of those skills like drawing. I used to be the absolute worst at drawing. I loved doing it though and eventually I got alot better. Though going into a trance state might not be as exciting as drawing. Always try.

Try looking up other guides on getting into a trance online.
Sometimes when you get multiple points of view on a particular technique, it makes it easier.
