so I have this chart of someone who is a saggitarius and has their ac in leo. Since they're a sagg does that mean jupiter is their ruler and the sun is co-ruler?

AC in Leo means the Sun is the chart ruler. Sun in Sagittarius is different, another part of their chart.
That is an interesting arrangement of those natal features if the Sun is also in the 5th house there.
Anyway, you figure out the chart ruler by the ruling planet of the sign under the AC or 1st house point (as the 1st house rules the chart hence chart ruler). If this is Leo, it is the Sun. If it is Aquarius for example, there would be two chart rulers, Uranus the main planet ruled by Aquarius, and Saturn which is co-ruled by Aquarius.
