Something to make trance states easier?

Hey guys! I was just wondering if there was anything I could do to make it a bit easier to get into a trance state? I have serious ADD and I just can't relax properly when sitting, and when laying down I fall asleep.

You nees to do void meditation more Charlie.Also make sure.you are drinking fresh water and stay away from junk foods and procesed foods. Breathing exercises are great for relaxation. You control your mind so please be patient with yourself.Dont worry too much about trances as they get easier as you advance in meditation. Do the best you can.

There are different techniques to put yourself in trance. But the underlying principle for all of them is to remove absolutely any thoughts from your mind. When there are no thoughts, the mind is calm and it is easy to get into trance. As Shannon said, void meditation helps that. Keep at it and do it regularly whenever you get time. With practice, it will naturally come to you.

Here is a simple technique I use (I also use NLP sometimes to put myself into almost instant alpha state. But that is a bit advanced).

1) It is pretty much like wiping a white board clean. I close my eyes and visualize an imaginary white board. I put all my thoughts on that using different coloured markers (doesn't matter what colour. The idea is that the board should get dirty with all my thoughts). Then I use the duster to clean the board clean (probably use water as well) to clean the board such that it is sparkling white again. Doing this, I am pretty much eliminating all the thoughts that are going on in my mind. This then sets my stage for meditation.

Okay, thanks! I'll get started on that then.I live with my parents still, but we do pretty well at avoiding processed foods. My mum makes her own bread, we get meat from our grandparents ect.

Thanks egon! It might take me a while to actually end up reading those though because its blocked on every electronic device we have, except one. And it's out of power with no charger. . Damn parental security eh?

When doing the trance, and you inhale and exhale just focus on counting, instead of getting into a trance. Inhale slowly for a count of six (or 4 which ever is more comfortable), hold for a count of six, and exhale slowly for count of six, focus on counting, slowly. Repeat as many times as needed. Good thing to do before is yoga, and then try to do a void meditation, then see if that makes the trance easier.
