seizures

fibrilink1 min to read

So, my mother has been struggling with epilepsy for about 8 years now--are there any natural treatments or herbs for this?

#1

From a TCM perspective epilepsy can be due to about four or five different patterns and each is treated differently. Magnesium supplements can help to reduce the seizures though this may not work if the problem lies in magnesium malabsorption, which can cause tremors and seizures in individuals susceptible to this.

Ok, thanks :)

I remember somewhere on the site having read that seizures are a result of sudden changes in energy/bioelectricity... So if she receives spiritual attacks or if someone she knows is sucking her energy... Eh, but this is not solid at all (my information I mean) I don't remember what I had read. x___x
But I had once heard someone saying that radioelectricity (for example sleeping with her mobile phone next to her, being too close to tv or anything that has to do with such waves) can affect -or even cause- seizures. But again... I hope someone else will respond. xP

Well she's a Christian so I wouldn't be surprised if she gets attacked sometimes :/ With meditation she would probably get better instead of having to get brain surgery yet again and have them kill even more of her brain... But she won't listen to me. She found the drawing I made and wasn't too happy. I don't understand why she would stay Christian after all the shit that's happened to her. Anyway, that's interesting that it might have to do with fluctuations in bioelectricity :) Thank you for your help!

Interestingly enough, fluctuations in bio electricity can reflect as Chinese medical syndromes such as Liver Qi Stagnation and Phlegm obstruction of the channels both of which cause energy to become blocked and then rush when the blockage moves. If the blockage winds up in the brain, seizures or even a stroke can result, especially when phlegm or blood stasis are present. Of course all of these physical ailments can originate in our souls, our aura and chakras as our body is merely a reflection of these things...

Would love to see your mum's tongue in order to advise you further... or perhaps you could describe it to me like you did on the other thread (since we came to a pretty conclusive diagnosis thereupon). In your mother's case the underside of the tongue is also important, look for the two big veins either side of the tongue's midline and the colour, thickness and length of them (if they are even visible).

You already spent so much time helping me, and you're willing to help my mother too? I can't believe how considerate you are :) I'll try to get pictures of her tongue XD Another thing I should mention is that she found my Bu zhong Yi qi wan pills and started taking them even though she might not need them -_- I'm almost out and I just orders more. Anyway, could this hurt her if she doesn't need it?

I believe this is what you were talking about @Light Yagami"Our bodies run on bioelectricity. Thoughts are electrical impulses in the brain. The brain runs on bioelectricity. When this electricity becomes imbalanced, one has seizures. The amount of bioelectricity an individual has, determines the degree of their physical, psychological and spiritual health. People, who are ill or depressed, have lesser amounts of bioelectricity. Depression all by itself, is a symptom of too little bioelectricity.Satanism and the Kundalini Serpent

Its highly inadvisable to take herbal formulas prescribed for someone else, and especially those ones if she has high blood pressure or is on any statin, warfarin or anti-psychotic drugs, beta blockers and cholesterol lowering drugs.

My guess is she has high blood pressure and shouldn't take them at all, they could increase her blood pressure and aggravate seizures and even stroke.

I'll try to get her to stop taking them. I got kind of mad at her when I saw her taking them, also I didn't want to run out :/ But it's like she thinks I'm keeping them from her just to be mean or something... I'll try to explain to her better

So I know I've taken forever but I finally got a picture of my mother's tongue. She didn't want me to send it--she pretty much hates putting any kind of pictures on the internet even though the chances of someone identifying her by a picture of her tongue is slim.. So I'm going to describe it, if that's okay. She has a somewhat short tongue that doesn't extend very far out of her mouth (I'd say a little less than average). In the center is a wide crack that deepens at the tip. Little cracks branch from the center until they near the tip and then they are completely gone. A thick white-yellow coating covers the top half of her tongue but there is less as it nears the tip which is shiny. I found that her tongue is kind of round looking and kind of thick yet it was kind of gelatinous/wet looking. Any ideas on what issues she has and what she should take? If you don't have time, that's okay, you've already helped me quite a bit and I'm thankful for that.
Again, thank you for all of your help!

Oh and what colour is the tongue body?

#12

I have a question... would you describe your mother as depressed or manic ie mentally unstable and prone to what some might call crazy episodes? Or is she lethargic and almost in a stupor at times?

#13

Pale pink other than around the edges and tip. She is very moody--she overreacts quite a bit. She does get very depressed and angry, at least every other day. She gets mad about really small things that shouldn't be such a big deal

#14

Also, she is very tired. She has a lot of mood swings.

#15

So kind of a mixture of both

#17

Edges are pink but not abnormally red. They look really healthy, probably the healthiest looking part of her tongue. And she hasn't been taking my stuff since I told her not to. I'd say she sometimes laughs inappropriately. I've always thought her sense of humor was kind of stupid and it's always kind of simple/almost childish. She laughs at really stupid things and then when I don't laugh she'll say "Come on, you're no fun!" And I'll just kind of stay deadpan until she's done. If I show my irritation she keeps on just to annoy me. It's childish...

#18

Yeah ok... I guess really I would need to ask her as many questions as I did you, and given that she is in a far worse condition herbs are probably not the best bet anyway as they might prove dangerous in the beginning... I'm thinking maybe she could massage some acupuncture points first and then revisit it.. but since she's your mother you would have to get a gauge on how likely she actually is to do it..

#20

Maybe you could just 'give her a massage' over the points and then after, when she says how good she feels, tell her they were acupuncture points... but anyway we can get to that later. If you like we can try to get through some Q & A as someone might learn something from it down the track reading it back..

Does she get heart palpitations (the feeling of the heart beating irregularly in the chest)?

Does she have any unusually hot or cold feelings of temperature?

Does she get sinus congestion on a regular basis?

Is she on any medication?

Does she experience bloating, general abdominal pain, loose stools (diarrhea) or constipation, irregular bleeding between periods or amenorrhea (no periods)?

What colour is the skin on her face? Is it pale but shiny? Pale but dull? Pale with red flush on the cheeks? Fully red all over? Any other colours in the complexion, visible veins on the cheeks etc? Acne?

That should give us a good start point...

#21

No heart palpitations
Feels hot--doesn't sweat because of meds
Gets sinus headaches almost every morning (usually if she's tired or didn't get enough sleep.
She's on LOTS of medication. Antiseizure and thyroid.
She's almost always constipated (meds probably).
Has really heavy, irregular periods. 52 years old. Peri-menopause?
She has pinkish cheeks, a little bit shiny. Face is kind of tan looking but it's actually redness if you look closely. Sometimes looks paler in different lights. Cheeks and chin and nose are shiny. Rest of face is a little pasty/dull looking.
No acne. She's said she has rosacea but I looked it up. She doesn't. She has capillaries though that make her cheeks look pinker. They don't stick out literally they're just obvious.
Although she doesn't have acne she has some small hard growths that just kind of go away on their own.
