Hey question..does Satan only answer prayers that are done by the ritual..or can he answer the prayers that are simply asked without the candle ritual?

My father being a preacher always forced his religion on us and I'm 100% that if I was a satanist and he found out he would kill me and then himself so he could "escort me to the throne of god personally for my sentence" He has told me he would do this before if I turned out gay. However it is not my personal safety for which this article is about. I have just never been all that into religion. I hear all of these first person accounts of being in touch with a divine but I am yet to experience anything of that nature no matter how badly I wish for it to happen. I read a lot on the JoS site and it really makes sense to me. It is actually along the lines of what I had been believing before I came across the site. I thought that the story of the fall of Lucifer and his description was one side of the story. There are always 2 sides and usually the first one to come about proclaiming innocence is the one that has been doing the wronging. Anyways. I am here to possibly get some clarity. I want to join the correct side but neither has truly made its presence aware to me. Above all I wish to hear it from a demon or even Lucifer himself but without giving up my safety or soul in the process. Is there a way I can learn the truth in such a manner? Also, is referring to Satan as Lucifer alright? I feel like the name Satan has just been tarnished so greatly that it holds a negative energy about it. However Lucifer seems to put me at ease and is more peaceful. Idk. Thank you
