If the person /does/ have all black clothes, then why not do it? The person now wanted everything to be perfect so they forgot; I can actually understand that, when you're too stressful etc, you might forget.
But don't tell them to not wear all black. It's like saying "don't take a bath, the Gods would understand your reasons for not doing it".
