I've done cleaning and AoP on my loved ones, but not the deep purification because I need to prioritize my work for the JoS. If it were a significant situation though, I'd do it, if I believed it was necessary.
You won't get negativity from it, because you are cleaning the bad energy. You're not sweeping it to yourself.
Btw purification is more complex and advanced. You don't just put white-gold energy on them and affirm to purify them.
