perinium and base chakra

I was just reading the Circulating energy meditation and i came upon something
that confused me.
On step 7 it says to focus on your perinium (spot between anus and
scrotum/vagina).
Then in step 8 it says to got to your base chakra.  I always thought (base on
many readings of chakra locations) that your base chakra was located at your
perinium.  If that is not the case then is it at the tailbone?

The perineum isn't the 1st chakra. The reason you hear about the 7/8 are because they deal with the more immediate and common parts of human life. There are sub-level chakras that reach down and above us, as the access broader fields like lower and upper earth and interdimensional. The lower is obviously accessing the earths energy body, as the upper reaches the upper field of earth and eventually the sun.

You haven't heard much about it, because it is the actual base chakra for raw sexual energy, whereas the 1st chakra governs more base things like survval, though can have sexual energies to it, but different. This is because the higher you raise energy, it becomes more refined going through the various chakras.

So perineum is raw {pure} sexual energy or vitality, and 1st chakra is perineum energy filtered {colored by} through whatever facets of existence governs 1st chakra. So it makes more sense that perineum is true seat of kundalini as raw primal energy is more akin to kundalini.

1st chakra is literally your groin or sexual organ area. Perineum is the same spot that in sexual sutras they refer to also as the "taint," which is directly beneath you between the anus and penis/sack. It is also an area that can be stimulated by a partner to increase sexual pleasure. How you are affected by that stimulation energetically or physically will of course depend on your own individual makeup.

I forgot to comment. It is directly below you... Just press your finger there
and it will feel like some sort of muscle. Aside from doing energy exercises,
if you do things like Kegel exercises, it will strengthen this muscle, as it
also controls sexual pleasure and drive and all those other things. Here is a
listed website. It talks about doing these exercises for people that have lost
most of their sexual ability, but really anyone can do it. Do not wait until
you are old and sexually unhealthy to do them, as maintenance is key. Also
anything physical in the health field will affect your energy body indirectly as
well as Kundalini is tied to sex and health.

Interesting how the sex exercise is located in the same spot as this chakra,
despite the fact that no one ever correlates sex exercises with chakra
perineums. Leave it to the dumbassery and "information/disinformation" agents
of the world to keep this information segregated.

I really appreciate you helping out with this. Often times when I worked on my chakras I would focus on my perineum when I worked on my base/1st chakra. I'll have to change this Now I suppose.

I have to apologize on this one and correct myself. There has been a big
confusion as in experimenting and reading different material. I always thought
of the perineum as simply some sort of connected chakra or an extension of the
root as far as being a seperate chakra. I wasn't far from the truth, because
the perineum is actually the root 1st chakra. The thing is you have chakra
extensions and I always thought of the groin as simply being the main. Well the
genitals/groin are like the frontal, and the perineum is actually the middle
part of the base chakra. The Spine is more or less where the back extensions
are as shown by the diagram on the JoS. I have read other articles on the
internet and seen the similarities and where the confusions begin and end.

I've read enough to know that you have middle, frontal and back centers, though
I wish there was more information as far as to what physical body parts they
correspond to, and what characteristics as far as being extensions they govern.
Obviously the perineum is the "center" root, whereas the genitals are the
front.
