Past Feelings?

Is there a way to forget or move on from past feelings? Kinda like when someone has a bad or depressing exprience and the feelings they had at that time get stuck into their head, and from time to time they have those same horrible feelings occur later in life repeatly.

This feeling usually has a root strand associated with it. This may be due to a no longer appropriate connection between you and someone else which is causing these feelings to resurface as the strand has not been severed. If you are experienced enough, perform this meditation to get rid of all inappropriate ties to anyone you can think of.
