Actually, it's not as 'odd' as one might think at first glance. Power is extremely sexy! Some go so far as to call it the ultimate aphrodisiac. And 'sexiness' goes beyond 'sex' as well; encompassing not only power, but charisma, intelligence, etc., all positive traits that make one an outstanding individual, whether god or mortal human.
(I speak of REAL power, not the assumed power of dictators and/or politicians, etc. who are often little more than buffoons, despite the damage that many of them do.)
It follows, therefore, that since Gods have real power, Gods are also sexy ... (and any I've seen are very easy on the eyes also.
That part isn't always true, though: there is an 'Aztec' god whose lengthy multi-consonant name escapes me at the moment, who is referred to as "the ugly god" who became even 'uglier' due to self-immolation... but that's a long, involved story, allegorical, no doubt, but apparently he was one who was never known for his handsomeness!

Hmmm...first time I ever heard Satan described as sexy. Interesting comment.
