New triple 6er with questions about double sigils

Hey there fellow Satanists. I've been searching the JoS site and the past questions here and cannot find any information as to why Satan and some of the other gods have 2 sigils. What's the purpose of each? Are they used for different things? And also, WHY is there more than 1?
