My Zevism Art Thread

Good evening.
Today I have tried to do a practice drawing of Father Satan and Lilith.
(Had to reduce quality of photo so it can upload to forum.)

I just have to say that I have only practiced for a few months but I only practiced portraits for 3 to 4 times in total. This is my first try of doing a larger face portrait and I have never tried shading before.
I had to do something for my daily practice so I decided to try and sketch Satan and Lilith together on one page. 🙂

I keep telling myself that I did good, considering it is my first attempt at such a large portrait, but deep inside me I feel like I could have done better. This is that curse that has been following me on my journey with my art since I started to draw. Every time I finish with my practice, it's always that "you could have done better" that follows.
I have tried ignoring me and instead tell myself afterwards that I did really good but it didn't really work well.
That is why I have decided to practice in private with no outer influence as I can't really take criticism. I believe that to be my mistake because now I was left alone with my thoughts.
For some reason I didn't want to upload this here as I felt ashamed of how it turned out but I thought this is something They would have wanted people to see.

Anyway, I don't want to rant too much, I have created this thread as I will keep on updating it with my drawings. Digital drawings will also be here but at the moment it is easier for me to practice traditional as I grew up with it.

I was always drawn to art, since kid, I used to draw portraits and random backgrounds all over the house. They all enjoyed it, but then the time came when we had to repaint the walls and all of it was gone. But I did it all again 😄
Later in my life I have stopped drawing and only started recently few months back when I decided art is something I want to pursue in future and make a living from it. That is all what also says in my natal chart about me loving art and being more on artistic side. Heck, it even says that I will make a living from art (I have decided to pursue art before I read that in my chart). I still cannot read it but it is clear enough me and art are destined for each other.
The only thing I will have to improve on is myself and finally start to appreciate my art as it is. Also from now on I will start to take any criticism, good or bad and take it to heart.
I will keep on improving and updating this thread and after a while I will switch to digital paintings.

You did good indeed!:)

Nobody would be able to draw ultra realistically or something very beautiful for their first time, but neither on the 100th.

Very good job! I am not good at shading and usually only am able to draw, paint, etc if I enjoy what I'm creating. You are skilled keep it up!

This is the targeted message.

I like it a lot, this is already looking very good, your talent is self evident. Please keep it up.

I think your drawing looks great. I wish you continued success in art. Have a nice day.

I really appreciate all the kind comments.
For some reason I felt disappointed again about it, thought it was not worth showing but the comments clearly proved me wrong and gave me more positivity and confidence in myself.

I don't know why did I decide to practice in private and avoid criticism, it was a mistake.

Your proportions are impressive for a novice, especially after only having practiced portraits about 4 times. I commend your courage to have overcome your difficulties regarding the reception of critique, in particular. This is a hurdle for many people in the beginning.

We have two voices in our mind when we create a work of art; one that applauds us for the effort we expended into creating our work, and one that reinforms us of our mistakes and where we were weak, in order to strive toward greater levels of expertise and precision. The latter is not evil, but it may sound like it at first, for many artists. The reason is because to many artists, it may sound like a part of yourself that only exists to discourage you, but it's actually there for you to analyze what could have been improved upon. Even at advanced levels, this voice exists; it's the "perfectionist" in us, at that point.

Also from now on I will start to take any criticism, good or bad and take it to heart.

Take critique into account, not into your heart. The heart can be fragile with expressive mediums, especially early on, as art is to reveal the contents of our mind and soul, as well as the concepts and emotions we connect with on a deep level. Critique, or advice, is merely suggestive information conveyed to provide awareness regarding the recipient's mistakes in their creations, in order to assist them in their growth. But they can choose to incorporate such advice into their own art toward varying degrees, or even combine it with other things they learned from somewhere else entirely. Essentially, advice is never absolute, just a guideline, and should not entirely rule your decisions.

Some people who you might receive advice from, might not particularly convey their points in the most helpful, eloquent and proficient manner, for example. This is when taking advice to heart will kill you and your desire to draw. Instead, it may be of benefit to you to detach any potential emotional connection to your art, and analyze the critique in an objective manner, in order to solely extract information from the points addressed. This is simply one method of dealing with these forms of advice.

Anyway, you did good in this particular drawing, Ardgion. I'd be more than eager to see your drawings in the future. If you face any difficulties, you can mention in which specific areas you struggled, and what other elements may have caused you frustration, or confusion.

I think it's quite natural to feel this way sometimes. As humans, we also need to be appreciated without criticism. Please don't blame yourself.

Thank you for this. I don't know why, but I really started hating the idea that I have only picked on art now, and not in my younger days. I keep thinking of where I could already be if I started practicing at younger age, but that is how it usually goes for everything. Maybe it is something that is present in my chart, where it shows that the later part of my life will be more fruitful. Don't know.
I have seen many artists where they are their own biggest obstacle in their career. It is like they don't appreciate their art enough. Similar is happening with me.
I have only taken art seriously a few months back but my practices have still been on and off, never actually had a constant practice for more than 2 weeks till now recently where I started doing a 80 day challenge where I draw one page per day for 80 days straight. I read somewhere that it takes about 100 days of doing it daily to make something into a habit.
I will keep posting my art here related to our Gods, even practices or just quick sketches and anything I am happy or not happy with because I need to change my way of finally appreciating my art.
Thank you!

So I tried quickly another portrait of Father Satan taken from reference from this post: https://ancient-forums.com/index.php?threads/free-powerful-uncensored-ai-tool-to-make-graphics.93136/

Well, considering I came back from a 12 hour shift, I'd say it turned out decent. I had to sketch something because I have to make it into a habit.
One thing that bothers me is when I practice things individually, like arms, legs, torsos, they turn out pretty nice, but when I combine it together it turns out very bad.
Similar now with portrait, it's not bad but looking at my most recent practices with eyes and such( 2nd image, being fresh, just 2 or 3 days old) I have no idea what happened now.
Ehh, maybe I'm just tired, but ohh excuses, excuses.

Seriously awesome, Eyes, lips and nose are very good.

I think it's great that you can draw so beautifully after 12 hours of work.
Sometimes I get stumped when I have to draw something after working for 4 hours.

The most difficult thing for me is proportioning the body. I couldn't find a solution.

I have managed to get decent at proportions by practicing gesture drawings. Look them up online. It is a form of capturing the movement of the body, while not really focusing on details or anything, just a loose sketch so to speak.

For regular people, not us. I do Nauthiz x10 after every Hatha and Kundalini yoga session for discipline, and I wish I had started doing so when I was at your stage. Being able to establish a foundational form of discipline from the very beginning, is paramount to consistency and rapid progression.

Work on your upper chakras and pineal gland to increase insight and intuition, in order to strengthen the creative and largely feminine aspects of the soul that fuel art. This will also help you in being able to observe and absorb more information from your artistic research, and from references. Throat chakra helps in expressing emotions, and in the context of art helps provide your drawings that sense of serenity and atmosphere from the emotions you wish to convey in them.

Invoke water for creativity. Fire for drive. Earth for more discipline and structure. Air for intellect and effectiveness of study. Quintessence to balance the energies.

Consult and vibrate the names of Demons who possess a strong association with Water, Venus, and who are known to be experts at creative subjects. You can also consult your GD, who knows your natal setup in and out, and would be more than willing to support your endeavors as you are astrologically inclined towards art, anyway.

And remember that nothing is instant, not even with the edge we have over normal artists. But as long as you do all the things right, and you do them consistently, all it takes afterwards is just time. Apart from all the aforementioned, one simply has to follow the same kind of practice and research as normal artists, like in my thread (that I haven't updated in a long time but am getting back to soon!).
