If you do the Material Square with the spiritual mantra, of course it is a failure. BUT if you do a Spiritual Square to achieve something your goal will manifest differently from it. The problem here is that if your affirmation really has nothing spiritual about it, then yes, wrong Square is failure.
Examples: AUM SHRIM MAHA LAKSHMYEI NAMA/SWAHA
