I am one who listens to music while meditations. I listen to heavy metal. I was wondering if it was better to listen to a repeating song rather than a bunch of different one. Any take on this?

Do what works best for you. I do both, i.e., a selection of music on my iPod that I purposely created specifically for meditation purposes. (The type of music, whether it's heavy metal or classical or a mixture that encompasses both ends of the music spectrum is a personal choice and there is no right or wrong.

ometimes I will repeat the same piece of music or passage of music several times. Don't hesitate to experiment.

Also, it's a good idea to sometimes meditate WITHOUT music, so that you develop (or not lose) the ability to meditate virtually anywhere at any time and not find you are unable to because you don't have your music at the time.

Props (and music qualifies here) are wonderful but we must never come to heavily rely on them or they can easily become a crutch rather than an aid and, as such, not helpful.
