If you were to imagine you were bigger than planet earth with your eyes closed, you could feel and experience it intensly. When your eyes are open and you imagine your bigger than planet earth, your vision would limit your experience because you will see you are not bigger than planet earth. Closing your eyes can help block out external stimulus but it can also enhance your experience by not being limited by what you see.
