Hi how are you all doing?
Just wanted to put this out there...
John Dee was a "pious christian."
I have found this out from none other than Lon Milo Duquette.
Here's how the argument can go--either the consensus is that LMD's an opinionated person on this matter and not to give it any weight, or to consider that maybe in fact John Dee was a "pious christian" performing bad black magic in an RHP sense.
I had emailed Lon Milo to see if he had any workings with a certain LHP group (btw I am not associated). He responded quick enough to merit his responses as stating that John Dee's works cannot be appropriated for another religious perspective since in fact Dee was sincere in his "faith" And also to state that to his personal knowledge he never ever had any workings with any such LHP group, thus the line was drawn.
My point in writing is to share this. My opinion on the matter is not so important, but I am curious to hear what JoS will say.
Hopefully you will know that there may be weight to this. I would be disappointed if the response is as unclear as: "do not accept a single word LMD has said!! John Dee was a secret satanist and used the enochian language for the LHP but had to cover it up because of the time period he was in, etc."
In my opinion I think not. This is why personally I question the validity of the John Dee Necronomicon as another hoax. I also refuse to use anything related to Enochian even if altered. But as it is I am a student of the dialectic school of reasoning and so I would not dare to state an opinion without an open mind susceptible to the possibility of change in opinion. Although on the other hand I generally try to prove what I accept before accepting it in an act of questioning.
to sum it up:
If John Dee was an all-out xian, only performing black magic as a white magician does, i.e. like crowley, then wouldn't his works be deemed unworthy for a true (or spiritual) satanist?
If you have any reliable sources to refute the evidence that would be great.
btw, this is my first post.
thank you
