Incense for summoning

If I do not have an incense burner as I am not allowed to where I live. Would an essential oil diffuser work if I had the scent for it (in my case Pine) or would it be considered offensive and be better to do no incense at all?

Its not a requirement to use incense, just use what you have on hand.
And no its not offensive, maybe if you used bugspray then yeah probably.
