Hello everyone!
I am new to this group-well the whole thing actually! I'm learning still, and I am working on understanding names, terms, references, etc so please bear with me?
I am a 34 yo mom of 3 great kids. I have never been "religious", it just wasn't part of my home life growing up. I have been to church, but never understood the point of listening to someone's interpretation of a book. But I have noticed lately that is "trendy" or "cool" to attend church. What? Teenagers want to jump out of bed early on Sundays for THAT? It seems to me more of a place to "be seen". Example-the rich, important people always sit up front. Even my 2 marriages, I couldn't bring myself to marry in a church. They were both nondenominational ceremonies. I guess that would be me-nondenominational, an agnostic. Not an atheist, because I believe in something bigger than me, but just not sure what/who.
All of that being said, Hollywood (and soceity as a whole) has done a great job of instilling fear and loathing of Satan and anything related to him. I am trying to work past the fear and learn as much as I can before beginning. I am afraid of doing something wrong, causing harm to myself or my kids. I have dabbled in Witchcraft before. Very amateur stuff and nothing truly serious. I once flew out to have a one-on-one appt. with psychic Bobby Drinnon. Spent alot of money! He was a little "preachy" but told me I possess an inner knowing and that it runs in my family. I found out well after this that my great grandmother whom I never met, was a well known "water witch" or water diviner. My grandmother who I knew well was gifted with herbs and flowers. (I knew this but just thought that made her an awesome grandma! She could heal boo boos with stuff from her kitchen, and grew such beautiful flowers and plants that she was featured in Southern Living magazine for her ability to "grow the ungrowable" Didnt understand til later)So thats a little about me and I plan to watch and learn. I might ask questions from time to time, and if they are dumb, I'm sorry, I mean no disrespect! Looking forward to "meeting" everyone! ---Jen
