I posted this a couple of days ago or so in reply to the same question under a different topic heading, so I'll put it in this heading as well, since the 'guardian demon' question seems to be coming up quite a lot lately... (I try to avoid too many personal references to myself, but sometimes one has to draw on their own experience) ...
Here goes: This 'bio' is illustrative of the fact that Satan chooses his people, sometimes a long time before they even have an inkling that they have been selected to become one of His Own.
First, I didn't initiate contact with the Gods (at least not consciously); it was the other way around and the story bean about 33 years ago.
Sometime after midnight on what, in retrospect, was one of the most pivotal days of my life, I drove to the countryside, deliberately seeking aloneness and the quiet of what passed for wilderness which was accessible by car. I had just purchased an ouija board and brought it with me. (As it turned out, that was the only time I successfully used a planchette; after that I used a pendulum, but I digress.) On a deserted road I pulled over, shut off the car, rolled down the window so I could hear the night sounds and began to meditate, for want of a better word. (This was 1976 and the word "meditate" still conjured visions of unwashed hippies!)
Before long, I felt a strong presence. I was definitely not alone and had, in fact, felt that presence briefly at work earlier. I have had so-called "supernatural" experiences since I was a small child, so to me none of this was frightening, but I sensed it was important. I put the ouija board on my lap, not knowing what would happen, but in a few moments, something did. At first I thought it was "me" speaking, i.e., my own sub-conscious mind bubbling forth and asked if that were true. "No," the planchette pointed out rather forcefully. "I am Xanthippe. You would know me as a demon." (I believe those were the exact words.) The word "demon" can strike terror into a xtian, but I was already well past that, and he obviously knew it.
Remember, at that time the demons were still bound at the soul level by their more numerous enemies, but that is not to say they were entirely helpless. (Of course, back then we didn't even know anything about this!) My experiences over the next three decades cause me to think of this binding more in terms of "restraint" but because I'm a writer and editor it may be just semantics. Xanthippe spoke to me occasionally, but not often, over the years as I found myself embroiled, not only in a personal morass of many layers, but also dealing with alien greys and other hostiles.
Fast forward to about a year after my formal dedication to Satan in November of 2004 when the demon Xanthippe began seriously counseling and guiding me. (I forgot to mention when I posted this before, that this also coincided with the time I began the Magnum Opus.) The Gods were now free and the enemy be damned! One night, just under a year after that, I realized he had not come alone. There was another God present as well, this one powerful beyond words. It almost felt like the very walls were vibrating! It was Anubis. (I had been in communication with Aztec and Assyrian Gods at various times during the 1980's and into the 1990's and they "blew me away" so to speak, but the power of Anubis made that seem like a gentle breeze compared to a hurricane, but without the danger or fear accompanying a hurricane.
That was the turning point. It was time for Anubis to 'take over' my training, instruction, and guidance. Xanthippe serves under him. He still says hello occasionally but his job, as it relates to me, is basically over.
Anubis is extremely patient with me, firm when necessary, likes to tease a little and has a wonderful, childlike (not childish!) sense of humor, and even when firm, is always kind. I have also been privileged to speak with Satan himself on several occasions as well.
As for tips on contacting one's guardian demon, I can only say that perhaps one may have better success by not picking a name from a list, so to speak, but instead focus on "a" guardian demon coming forward, as more or less happened with me.
Also, if you aren't familiar with the demon's name, don't despair and don't panic. I had no idea who Xanthippe was; I'd never heard the name before but I know he spoke truth. That's because there are hundreds of thousands (or more!) of "lesser Gods" serving under higher-ranked Gods. Look at the lists of the top-echelon Gods on the JoS site and you will see a line that reads, "'X' is in charge of (insert number) legions of demons."
I know I harp on this a lot, but it always bears repeating: always, always, always, without fail, do your protection exercises before attempting such contact -- do them as part of your routine anyway, whether or not you're trying to contact a demon. That way, it is unlikely an impostor or angel will gain a foothold. If Xanthippe, for instance, was not the "real deal", he wouldn't have had the audacity to appear AFTER I had been dedicated for nearly a year! And even less so in the company of Anubis.
People have a tendency to pick from the list, I think, because they are more familiar with the God names that are also household words. That is not wrong; all I'm saying is that we need to be open ...
On the other side of that coin, however, is the fact that we are often attracted, for reasons we can't always articulate, to a certain God. In that case, definitely pursue that attraction and if it is incorrect, I'm sure you will be told in one way or another and perhaps even pointed in the "right" direction.
I hope this helps and encourages ...

It appears that guardian demons introduce themselves---if that is correct, can someone with personal experience to that effect reply to this topic?
How did the guardian demon reveal itself to you?
