Personally it calms me down a lot to void meditation, also going into trance helps me a lot or just do breathing exercises

Void meditation
The benefits of void meditation are the ability to turn off unwanted thoughts and influences at will, and being able to control your thoughts, rather than your thoughts controlling you, and a sense of inner peace.

Isa, working.
You can also program your energies raised from yoga to do it.
.....
Its always much much easier to do changes within yourself with energies than using will. Yes void is good not denying it, but too much air element can cause a person to loose focus very easily.

Just simply sit there and wait, "meditate". It will feel wrong and a waste of time but it's not.

Something that really helped me is using the Dhyana Mudra while practicing void meditation. Controlled breathing also helps!

Deep breathing will activate the vagus nerve and calm you down in turn.
Pause your breath on the exhale to a comfortable extent, and let the exhale be relaxed and not forced at all.
Also lie on your back and put books on your diaphragm to see if you move them when you breathe or not. If not you can practice by tying a belt around your upper ribcage and breathe like that to learn how to inhale with the diaphragm.
