How many souls can exist at the same time on earth?

I can answer the second question: one soul for one body..for the most part.
Creating new ones..not sure. That's a bit complicated and beyond me. If I tried to explain it, I'd get it wrong, but..something like the soul came/comes before the body does, when producing a child? I don't know it in detail.
