The turtle is also a symbol of a strong foundation. Turtles for many peoples, where they are honored as a sacred symbol, carry the whole world or Gods. One of the meanings of the word "Gods" as a code word is Chakras, i.e. our Soul. I.e. the message is a solid foundation for the development of our whole Soul, without which it cannot live and develop, as the tortoise carries the whole worlds, and the world is human, their Soul, it is also a code word for the human Soul, which is the true meaning of the alchemical concept of the universe or "world". When I use the word "soul" in this context, I mean the whole Soul, all layers, including the physical one, as just one aspect of human existence, i.e. including the physical world that human lives in, and his body. I.e. the turtle is also a solid foundation of physical existence, including such things as having financial stability, good education and contacts necessary for advancement wherever one needs to go, the right time and place, a safe neighborhood to live in, etc. I.e. the necessary material foundation for life, which is necessary for normal development in all higher spheres, and which also needs to be built, and the building of which is also an aspect of spiritual advancement.
This is the essential, on which everything is based, and on which everything else is based and from which everything builds. Building this foundation is the most difficult and longest, so the image of a turtle is very suitable for this. It moves slowly, it has a hard shell, which on the one hand protects it well, but on the other hand, it is difficult to carry and slows it down considerably. In other words, what is real, built for centuries and will really protect in hard times, takes long to be built. The first step (or the first and second steps, if there are more than two steps) are usually the most difficult ones in any endeavor, which is why this image of the Base Chakra, with three whales, three elephants and everything else standing on it, is depicted as the slowest animal. The Basis Chakra and the Sacral Chakra may be the most challenging to this world. Tortoises are also known for their longevity, some living to over a hundred years. That's rare among mammals. And Lord Bifrons is known to be the God of Wisdom and the most complex sciences, requiring long study and dedication.
