Hello to Everyone in this Group,
I have just joined this group. Like perhaps a lot of you here, I found it through the Joy of Satan website. For many years it has been my passion to study different religions. I was brought up a Christian like perhaps a good number of you here. My family is Roman Catholic and I studied in a Protestant school for 9 years. I've explored different Christian sects and branches including Jehovah's Witness. I've delved into Gnosticism, specifically Sophian Gnosticism. I've also studied Buddhism and its different branches--Vajrayana, Mahayana and Theravada. I've also encountered religions you may not have even heard of such as Baha'i. I've joined Rosicrucian groups and explored Chaos Magick.
For a long time I avoided learning about Satanism, thinking that it was "evil" and "bad", just like what Christians would have you believe. But now I'm here. I've read some of the writings on the Joy of Satan website and found them interesting, especially the thought that Demons are the Nephilim, the Old Gods. Some part of me believes this is true.
I have to mention one of the things that brought me here. For many months now I have felt a strange connection with the Demon Asmodeus. Though I cannot be sure that it's really Asmodeus I'm in contact with, I found it rather interesting when I read on your website that his zodiac position is 5-9 degrees of Virgo, from Aug 28 to Sept 1st, August 28th being my birthday.
I knew from the start that Asmodeus is a Demon and thus, owing to my lingering Christian beliefs, my first thought about him was that he was "evil". But as the communication progressed through the months I've found that this Being that claims to be Asmodeus--and may even truly be Him--is a pleasant and protective entity. He may even be responsible for my father's luck at the casino.
I'm going to end this by asking the experienced Satanists here whether you think I'm really communicating with a Demonic King or not. I'd love to hear what you have to say. I'm going to go and read more at the Joy of Satan website.
