Good morning, I ask you a simple but fundamental question

AvatarDaniel61 min to read

Is it better to meditate with your legs crossed as practiced in Eastern religions or better sitting comfortably or is it okay to lie down?
thankyou

What matters is your comfort.

In my case sitting crossed leg longer than 5 minutes makes my legs go numb.

I am reaching towards a green apple.

What is important is that you are relaxed with a straight back, be it sitting or lying down.

As Aquarius said, focus on comfort. Be aware that being on your back can cause for one to fall asleep. I myself like to use a pillow against my back from time to time. HPS Lydia Coventina mentioned sitting on a blanket or pillow if your legs tend to hurt from sitting cross-legged.

I most of the time sit cross legged in meditation i sit like 20-30 min then when my legs feel unconfortable or hurt i sit normally. Sitting cross legged for me feels great.

As has already been answered above, the most important thing is the feeling of comfort. If you feel comfortable, you will be able to focus more easily, as being relaxed is very important for our practices.

The only thing I will add is that you must be seated during chakra cleansing and while rotating them, but for everything else the choice is yours, you may sit, lie down, and so on.

Why?

Why?

I do not remember exactly which section I read this in, but as I recall, chakra alignment requires a seated position, and by my logic, chakra cleansing also requires sitting upright in order to feel them fully.
(I can be wrong)

First, you mentioned chakra rotation. Now you mention chakra alignment. You need to get your facts straight. Anyway..

I had this experience, which was not exclusively meant as a chakra meditation, but it was part of it, where I used a crystal with a corresponding chakra. I was lying on my back, and as part of the process, I spun the chakra I was mainly working with at the moment. It was quite a good experience, so that is why I had to ask why, because I would like to see some reasoning behind such statements.

Any position that makes you feel comfortable is good. You can meditate also if you lie down, however if you feel sleepy you can fall asleep.

Personally I meditate with my legs crossed, but sitting for too long hurts my back at some point.

All I do, I do it for our Temple.

This is the targeted message.

I already explained the logic behind my thinking and mentioned that I could be wrong. I also understand you in the sense that before stating something, one should have facts to back it up, especially on spiritual topics. I simply chose to be honest and say that I had forgotten exactly which section I had read it in, but I explained my reasoning nonetheless.

You simply said it requires, but did not explain any further. That is not reasoning. I was looking for an explanation, but whatever.
