I was very squeemish and scared about cutting myself for the blood. I had a glass of wine to loosen up a bit... and then another.. and then another.

So I pretty much did my dedication ritual pretty drunk. I did everything as stated in the instructions but instead of meditating after, I went to sleep (or passed out).

Does this negate the ritual? What should I do?

It doesn't negate the ritual, though for future reference it is more respectful to perform rituals sober.

One might answer the question in this way: Does a drunken voter's ballot count?
If blood WAS drawn and attached to the ritual as required, a state of insobriety was irrelevant to the outcome.
Check (or re-check) JOS on the subject.

And this was supposed to be serious??

No it doesn’t negate the Ritual but it doesn’t help your case as a Satanist either. I myself do not like drawing blood but I did it in a sober fashion even if I drank one glass of red wine to Satan’s health, afterwards. You do not pass out while performing a Ritual or you are not master of your acts and in all Magicks no matter what, including the Dedication Ritual, you must remain master of your ceremony. No need to redo it, but next time you perform a blood Ritual, act more as a Satanist rather than a sheep!   At the end of this month, I’ll be celebrating my five years as a Dedicated Satanist and for those who wish to read it, I’ll post my Testimonial that I wrote five years ago. In it I mention members of that epoch, so don’t be surprised or offended by their names but it was necessary for my explanation. I’m doing this to help those who are new to our way of life, because Satanism IS a way of life, much more than it is a religion. You don’t just practice Satanism you live as a Satanist because you ARE a Satanist, if you see what I mean! So, do let me know if you wish me to post this and I will!   As for our friend who doesn’t like the site of blood, it’s a very small sacrifice to our God and Father and if you can’t do this gesture of slightly pricking your finger to draw a minimum amount of blood to show your respect and attachment to our cause, I would think that you are probably not as Satanist as you would like to believe. It’s your call! HAIL SATAN L!

I understand what you are saying, but I also think that it is what is in your heart that is what counts. Being "squeemish" about blood or not I do not think has any bearing on the fact.

I also read the dedication ritual on http://tikaboo.com/
which is pretty much the same, except says to sign it with a fingerprint of blood.

Having read about "whitchcraft" years ago, wine was always part of the rituals and often encouraged. So, i think I had a bit of this in my mind. I just regret that I ended it and just went to sleep.

If you want to know the details of the blood, I ended up cutting my right arm with a razor blade, which bleed a lot. I pretty much "signed" it with a full hand print of blood and them some. I burned it and scattered the ashes outside.

Hi I think if you where quite sincere about dedicating
& got the blood on & a reasonable focus it should be
valid
you say you fell asleep afterwards ,well try to remember
if you dreamed anything ? it COULD be important
If I ever get my own coven I was thinking of serving the
members a good brandy (The best way to get the blood ciculating)
AFTER the ritual had been completed & propose a toast
to lord Enki with a HAIL SATAN !!!

Wow, no wonder you were drinking.... you dont need anywhere near that amount of blood, just a drop. I mean, unless you're just into self-mutilation, all you need to do is poke your finger with a needle.

Some people do incorporate alcohol or drugs into their rituals, but that's a bit different than getting drunk in order to work up the courage to perform the ritual. Perhaps blood rituals just aren't your thing lol :D
